A MALTON haulage company will benefit from a new digital system as an industry first to boost customer satisfaction and business operations.
Ward Bros, in Showfield Lane, Malton, will make use of the new digital information hub, developed by Palletways Group, which will enable them to access their operational and customer data in real time to improve processes, communication and traffic planning.
Steve Ward, principal at Ward Bros, said that as one of the 100 independent transport providers which make up the Palletways distribution network across the country, the business will be able to see where every pallet is throughout the day.
He said: “No other local transport company providing express delivery services for palletised freight can offer the business-critical data to customers that we can via the Palletways Digital Information Hub.
“The new digital system will enable us to see the whole of our business in real time so we know where every pallet is every minute of every day.”
Optimising the use of This live data will enable the company to make constant checks on location and delivery, as well as use a visual heat map to show where deliveries are being made.
Mr Ward said: “The Digital Information Hub will help us make significant efficiency gains in our depot and on the road.
“Importantly, it will enable us to enhance the customer experience by providing them with total visibility of their consignments through the supply chain, proactively managing any transport issues to ensure deliveries on time and opening up new business opportunities by highlighting new potential markets based on customer’s existing delivery profiles.”
