AN ENGINEERING firm which is next year marking its 20th anniversary in York has moved to new offices to accommodate its growth.
Omnicom Engineering, which started at The Reading Rooms in Micklegate in 1995, has moved from its Tadcaster Road base, which is has operated from since 2000, and into new offices in Clifton Park.
The business, headed by chief executive Stirling Kimkeran, specialises in developing software and hardware to survey and monitor assets in the transport sector.
Invited to officially launch the new office was Lord Mayor Cllr Ian Gillies, the Civic Party and the Leader of City of York Council, James Alexander.
Cllr Alexander said: “Omnicom is one of York’s modern success stories, utilising the city’s great rail heritage and innovative product development to its commercial advantage. As the current chairman of the York Economic Partnership and involvement in the Leeds City Region, in addition to his role as chief executive of Omnicom, Stirling is also an active advocate for York’s economic future.
“I’m pleased to see that as the company has grown it has continues to see York as its home, while building its network across the UK and even now as it moves into Australasia, an exciting proposition for knowledge sharing and networking with industry leaders, rail manufacturers and operators from around the world.”
Omnicom has wide experience in providing image based solutions to the transport industry, including the provision of the train borne image acquisition systems, video processing systems, automated image processing techniques and data visualisation tools.
