THE commercial property team at Langleys Solicitors has seen three new appointments, as the firm reports strong demand from a fast recovering market.
Solicitor Phil Robinson joins from Langleys’ private client team and will specialise in residential and agricultural property work.
Two newly qualified solicitors have also joined the team. Amy Taylor will work alongside Mr Robinson on residential and agriculture work while Louise Walker will focus on commercial property work including landlord and tenant matters and acquisitions and sales.
Tim Cross, partner and head of the commercial property team at Langleys, said: "We now have the full breadth of residential, agricultural and commercial property expertise in the team, including acquiring commercial and residential sites, the development of them and taking them through to the point of sale."
CITY centre visitor attraction York’s CHOCOLATE Story has announced the appointment of Alicia McSweeney as its new Groups, Corporate and Education sales executive.
Miss McSweeney, 22, is tasked with improving the attraction’s corporate and private hire offer and build on the award-winning educational initiatives, including launching a new Key Stage One workshop to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

NORTH Yorkshire accountants and business advisers, JWPCreers, has appointed a new senior manager to its general practice team in the form of Nicki Hutchinson.
Having previously worked at the Pickering office of a national accountancy firm as senior manager, Ms Hutchinson will be based at JWPCreers’ York office in York Science Park, reporting to managing partner, Nigel Clemit and partner, Russell Smith.
Her appointment is the latest in a series at the firm in the last six months, including two partners, in response to new client gains and a growing number of instructions.
SELF-catering holiday specialist, cottages4you has appointed a new regional manager to cover the Yorkshire Coast area.
Debbie Wibberley, of Ebberston, near Scarborough, will manage the company’s 250 properties currently available for holiday letting in the area, with a view to growing the portfolio to meet increasing demand from holidaymakers.
Cottages4you is part of the Wyndham Vacation Rentals group and operate across a range of brands including English Country Cottages, Welcome Cottages and Yorkshire Cottages.
YORKSHIRE business advisers and accountants Garbutt & Elliott, has strengthened its Business Development team with two key appointments.
Simon Palmer, who recently joined Garbutt & Elliott as a partner, will head up the team, and will be supported by new Marketing and Business Development manager, Peta Bean.
Russell Turner, managing partner of Garbutt & Elliott, which has offices in York and Leeds, said: "These are very significant appointments for us. Simon is highly talented and will strengthen our Business Development team across North and West Yorkshire.

Provenance Inns Group has appointed Iain Pilcher as area manager giving him responsibility for the Black Bull in Morton and The Carpenters in Thirsk.
The appointment is a new role, created to support the group’s growth plans which will see it continue to increase the number of inns within its portfolio.
Mr Pilcher joined Provenance Inns in January 2014 as general manager of the Black Bull.
In his new position he will lead two inns in developing their strategy, as well as overseeing their operations.
Provenance Inns owns six inns across North Yorkshire as well as Harrogate’s newest hotel West Park.
