WHEN estate agent James Nicholson sold a house to Lancaster Samms director Neil Samms, he did not realise he was also selling himself into a new job.

Now Mr Nicholson, 27, is the second property professional to join estate agents Lancaster Samms, based in High Petergate, in the last eight months, doubling the size of the team.

Mr Samms, said: "In James’ customer care and high level of service in buying my home in York, I was pleased to experience the Lancaster Samms’ approach from a buyer’s perspective.

"This level of care and attention to detail comes naturally and we’re pleased to welcome him to the team.

The appointment of James Nicholson, who will be involved with all aspects of the valuation and sales process, follows that of Elkie Buckland who joined Lancaster Samms this spring.

Charlie Lancaster, joint director at Lancaster Samms, which was founded in 2012, and who is a member of the National Association of Estate Agents, said: "A very high level of personal service is central to our ethos. We have the highest ratio between staff and properties among York estate agents and James has been appointed to maintain this balance in what is turning out to be our busiest and most successful year."
