THE Crown Prosecution Service will move into 16,000sq ft of offices in Middlesbrough, developed by York-based property development and investment company The Helmsley Group.
The CPS will this month relocate its 115 staff from smaller premises in the city to one-and-a half-floors of the three-storey 30,700 sq ft Hudson Quay 1 building at Middlehaven, which The Helmsley Group developed with its joint venture partner, national development group, Terrace Hill.
It is part of a £500 million mixed-use scheme led by Tees Valley Regeneration which comprises residential, commercial and leisure developments on a 200-acre site and is set to create up to 2,000 jobs to kick start economic growth for the Tees Valley.
Ian McAndrew, associate director of The Helmsley Group, which is behind the phased development of the £60 million Monks Cross North business park on the York outer ring road, said: "We are delighted to welcome the Crown Prosecution Service to Middlehaven. The arrival of such a high-profile and established organisation is a massive vote of confidence in this ground-breaking development."
