AMIE Postings, 26-year-old general manager of York's AA 3 Red Star Grange Hotel in Bootham, has become the youngest-ever chairman of the York Hoteliers Group.
This grouping of key city centre hotels represents more than 1,500 bedrooms, and has important links with the York Tourism Bureau and York Hospitality Association.
They meet regularly to discuss issues relating to both business and leisure tourism, and to share information on business trends and research.
Amie, who has been in charge at the award-winning Grange Hotel since 2005, said: "I am looking forward enormously to this new challenge.
"York welcomes more than four million visitors every year, and we continually have to encourage them to stay for longer, so that hotels as well as shops and attractions benefit from the money they have to spend."
June Nelsey, general manager of the Best Western MonkBar Hotel, and chairman of the group for the past five years, said: "The group plays an important role in the continued development of tourism in the city, and I know that Amie will be a leading light for the future."
