HARROGATE MP Phil Willis today congratulated Harrogate International Centre (HIC) for winning the Business Tourism Award in the Enjoy England Awards For Excellence 2007.
The HIC won the gold award for its forward-thinking investment in The Queens Suite, which opened in March 2005.
The Queens Suite features the capability to adapt to new technology for years to come.
The centre was also commended for its investment in accessible facilities, as well as its environmental awareness and local community integration.
Mr Willis said: "I am delighted that the conference centre, which I played an instrumental role in re-building, continues to go from strength to strength.
"The conference centre is a key asset to Harrogate's economy and I would like to congratulate the centre, and its hard working staff, for winning this national award."
