Four men have joined the growing staff at Knaresborough based 9xb. com, the web design and online marketing company in Lingerfield Park which counts former BBC presenter Selina Scott and plastic surgery celebrity Cindy Jackson among its clients, has more than doubled its workforce in under 12 months, and now employs 20.

The newest recruits are online marketing consultant Paul Evison, web designer Jay Heaviside and web developers Doug Radburn and Jonathon Wright.

Mr Evison joins Clearsite, 9xb.com's online marketing division, following three years with a major online mail order firm and a spell running his own marketing consultancy.

Jay Heaviside is an award-winning designer, having enjoyed major success with his work for First Direct Bank.

His new colleague, Mr Radburn, has a degree in web development, and Mr Wright studied digital media at Leeds University.

Rob Burns, managing director of 9xb. com welcomed his "high calibre recruits" and predicted that 2007 would be every bit as memorable as 2006 "which was an incredibly successful year for us."

In the two-and-a-half years since its formation, the turnover of 9xb. com has tripled.

The firm's subsidiary, Clearsite Marketing, which was formed last summer, now employs a team of five and counts Rolawn and Bill Plant School of Motoring among its clients.


Graham Hamer has been appointed by Yorkbased building services provider SES as chief estimator, a key role within the business's Work Winning Team.

From the York head office, he will be responsible for the SES team of estimators and will work on a diverse range of projects in sectors such as health, education and commercial.

Graham joins SES from NG Bailey, and brings with him a wealth of experience in the building services and construction industry.

David Mason, SES business director responsible for the Work Winning Team, said, "I am delighted to welcome Graham to the business, especially given his experience and understanding of the estimating field. SES is continuing to grow, and Graham will be leading the team that plays a vital role within the company's growth plans."

Needlers Ltd, the supplier of cleaning products, protective work wear and associated equipment, has appointed a new sales manager, Tania McGrath, to work with its customers in the York area.

Tania, pictured, has lived in York for most of her life and has more than seven years' experience of working with businesses in Yorkshire and Lancashire.

Her new role will focus on building relationships with businesses in York to supply products to match their health and safety needs.

She said: "This is an exciting new challenge for me.

I've worked with a wide range of businesses for several years and really understand their health and safety needs. And because York is my home town, I understand the needs of local businesses and the issues they may face."

Dickinson Dees has appointed leading corporate lawyer Mark Warburton as a partner in its York office, with effect from today.

Mr Warburton joins Dickinson Dees from Watson Burton, where he was one of the founding partners of the firm's Leeds office in 2005. Before this, he was an equity partner for 12 years at Andrew M Jackson in Hull.

Major deals completed by Warburton include the £46 million acquisition by Icelandic Group of Seachill Limited and the management buy-out of Wharton Grove Wharf. His expertise and contribution to Icelandic business and culture led to his appointment as the first Icelandic consul in Leeds in 2006. He is also an executive committee member of the British Icelandic Chamber of Commerce.

Mr Warburton, said: "Our Yorkshire presence is already reaping major successes since its opening last December, and is consolidating its reputation for excellence across the region.
