A SPECIALIST company from Selby has benefitted from a share of more than £2 million-worth of training grants of between £500 and £50,000 thanks to the Leeds City Region Enterprise Partnership (LEP).
Selby District Council is one of the partner authorities which works with the LEP to support business growth and investment.
One business benefitting from the support is Just Paper Tubes LTD, a manufacturer of cardboard cores and postal tubes, based in Selby. It supplies cardboard cores to a range of blue-chip clients.
The manufacturing facility operates 24 hours, and last November alone saw over 4.5 million label and tapes cores produced.
The firm is currently rolling out a plan to become the most advanced tube manufacturers in the industry, and was keen to undertake training to ensure that it continues to offer the high quality and reliable service it is known for.
Harry Coates, general manager at Just Paper Tubes LTD, said: “The training offered by the LEP has been invaluable as it has enabled us to upskill our teams. Part of the funding from the training programme went towards a sales training course, which gave us a better understanding on how we could use social media to grow our business.
"This has meant that we are now able to communicate with our current customers, reach out to new customers, and promote the values that we base ourselves on."
