CPP, one of York's biggest private employers, has launched the Trailblazers Awards to reward UK businesses operating within the emerging life assistance sector.

It is offering a £50,000 prize to businesses that have a unique product or service and can demonstrate their vision to succeed in an increasingly competitive market.

Stephen Kennedy, CPP's UK managing director, said: "CPP has grown over the last 20 years from a small business based on one individual's vision and drive, to a multi-country, multi-million revenue business with more than ten million customers.

"Importantly, the business has retained its entrepreneurial heritage, which is an essential part of daily life at CPP. This entrepreneurial edge is evidenced in CPP's commitment to new product development and the creation and market leadership of the emerging life assistance sector."

The winners will be chosen by CPP and a panel of industry leaders.
