A NEW human resources (HR) and training business, thought to be the first of its kind in York and North Yorkshire, has been launched by city law firm Denison Till.
The new venture, Denison Till HR & Training Solutions Ltd, based at the firm’s offices in Piccadilly, will enable businesses to access strategic and operational HR and training alongside specialist employment law expertise.
It is being led by managing director Jo Bloor, who has 20 years’ experience in HR, both as a freelance consultant and as an in-house HR manager. She is a member of the Chartered Institute Of Personnel And Development and has a masters degree in human resource management.
On offer will be a wide range of HR and training services, including consultancy on issues such as introducing and maintaining strategic and operational HR policies and practices, disciplinary and dismissal processes and dealing with employee grievances.
The business will also offer recruitment and selection support, psychometric assessments, executive coaching and bespoke project management.
On the training side, Denison Till HR & Training Solutions will provide a range of leadership skills, including workforce motivation, managing difficult staff, negotiation techniques, assertiveness and change management.
Training will also be offered in areas of HR best practice, including effective performance appraisals, incorporating performance management and interviewing skills.
Ms Bloor will be supported by Denison Till’s employment law team, including partners Brian Harrington and Tiggy Clifford.
