AN acquisition spree by LSL Property Services Plc, the expanding York-based group, continues.

This time the group has bought the assets of the estate agency, land and new home and lettings business of the Goodfellows Group Plc for £963,968 in cash.

The deal encompasses nine estate agency and lettings offices.

An LSL spokesman said: “Strategically, this acquisition gives us further strength in the land and new homes sector as well as growing our lettings business.”

The group, based at York’s Trinity House in Kings Square, became the second biggest estate agency businesses in the UK when it bought the loss-making 218-office Halifax estate agency business from Lloyds Banking Group for a nominal £1.

By the first quarter of this year, LSL’s estate agency division increased turnover by 64 per cent, including the former Halifax Estate Agency branches, which have since been trading under LSL’s Reeds Rains and Your Move brands In January, the group bought the assets of Home of Choice Ltd (HoC) for £1.5 million in cash from administrators.

HoC, based in Chippenham, Wiltshire, is a fast growing multi-tied specialist mortgage network provider to about 500 self-employed mortgage advisers.
