TWO North Yorkshire MPs are keeping the pressure on the Government for Equitable Life policyholders to receive justice.
York Outer MP Julian Sturdy asked during Prime Minister’s Questions what was being done to help policyholders in his constituency.
Prime Minister David Cameron reminded him the Government plans to pass legislation before November next year to compensate those who lost out when the life insurance company collapsed in 2000.
“We need to get this done,” the Prime Minister said. Junior Treasury Minister Mark Hoban told Thirsk and Malton MP Anne McIntosh, in a written reply, the Government was committed to fair payments to the policyholders.
