AVALON, the not-for-profit organisation which runs the vintage clothing, hair-styling and coffee shop in York called The House of Avalon, has rebranded following its expansion.

The registered charity, which is based in Harrogate and has an office at Clifton Moor, York, supports vulnerable adults in North Yorkshire, especially those with learning and physical disabilities, to find employment.

Chief executive Angelena Fixter said the changes reflected Avalon's growth, particularly in the last five years.

“Over the past few years we have opened a series of social enterprises including a painting and decorating service called Michelangelo’s Mates, a dog walking service called Wagalon and in May 2010 we launched a vintage clothing, hair-styling and coffee shop in York called The House of Avalon.”

The group has a workforce of over 800, including managers, administrators, operational and front-line staff and also works with volunteers and family living providers.

It has launched a new logo of a Butterfly, which it said represents revitalisation, regeneration and exciting new growth. It has also launched a new website at avalongroup.org.uk.
