A BLUE-rind brie, Bells Bluemin White, newly created by Judy Bell and her artisan cheesemakers at Thirsk-based Shepherds Purse, scooped first place in the speciality category at the Great Yorkshire Show Cheese Awards.
Yorkshire Fettle, made with 100 per cent ewe’s milk, also picked up third place in the same category.
Bells Bluemin White is made with local cow’s milk produced in the Vale of York and is handcrafted and gently nurtured in a specially created ripening store.
