BENENDEN Healthcare Society, the healthcare mutual with headquarters in York, has received an accolade of its creditworthiness.

The society, which provides healthcare to public and third sector employees, has been classified as having a risk indicator of one, by international credit business Dun and Bradstreet.

A rating of one indicates a minimal risk of failure within the next 12 months, said James Gibbon, acting finance director at Benenden Healthcare.

He said: “This is a tremendous accolade for our business. To be a D&B rating one during one of the worst economic times in recent years is a fantastic accomplishment.

“This reflects and is testament to, the high standard of financial management that we as a mutual, not-for-profit organisation operate by.”
