YORK business centre Apollo House is expanding after owner Prospect Business Centres experienced a 25 per cent increase in enquiries for serviced office accommodation in York.
The company said the last three months in particular of the first half of 2010 showed growth compared with the same period last year.
This represents the first sustained increase in demand since 2008, which highlights the popularity of the serviced office concept in the face of ongoing economic instability, said Charlie Cudworth, director of Prospect Business Centres.
“York continues to perform strongly as a commercial location and there is undoubtedly enough demand to justify the continued expansion of our serviced office provision in the city,” he said.
“Enquiries are generated from either new enterprises looking to set up in the city or from existing York-based businesses keen to expand, an encouraging sign which highlights the resilience of York’s economy.”
The business centre will be expanded by 7,500 sq ft, with capacity to accommodate from two to 50 desks.
The Leeds-based property company has also launched a long-term acquisition campaign to double its offering in the UK in the next few months.
