REALITY comes to a shop in Tadcaster Road, York for which there is a big demand.

The existing shop, Office Technology Corporation soon stops being a tangible reality when it concentrates instead on selling its printers via the world wide web.

Nigel Taylor, of Taylor York Commercial, which is agent for the lease, said: “We have had eight potential retailers taken around the site since it was introduced to the market only three weeks ago.”

The site used to be the popular Touchwood DIY store but after its owners retired there have been two occupiers, the latest being the Office Technology Corporation.

It invested in converting the upper floors from uninhabitable space to good office accommodation.

A buyer would be asked to contribute towards the cost either by way of a premium contribution of £12,500 on top of a £12,500 rent on a six year lease or a higher annual rent of £15,000 on a five year lease.

Mr Taylor is also marketing two shops at East Parade, Heworth – one the former Threshers Wine Merchants which went into administration last October; and the former Bolan Dale Insurance brokerage on the corner of Mill Lane.
