THE chairmen of the three new local enterprise partnerships (LEPs) have agreed to meet regularly to harmonise their efforts.
The heads of York and North Yorkshire, Leeds City Region and Sheffield City Region LEPs will “work together in order to achieve greater benefits for the wider economy.”
Formal and informal co-operation will take place to focus on those matters where the individual LEPs believe that working together will help in growing their respective economies.
Discussions will start shortly to identify such areas, which might include the production and use of economic data, a common approach to sector networks and the co-ordination of some large-scale innovation projects. It is not intended to create any complex structures.
