YORK-based Trustmarque Solutions has made its first move to expand in the cloud computing industry through the acquisition of Hertfordshire-based business Nimbus Technology Systems.
The £130 million-turnover business, which employs more than 100 people at Monk’s Cross, said the acquisition was the first in a planned series of strategic acquisitions to extend its expertise, range of capabilities and service offerings.
It said Nimbus Technology Solutions would provide it with more breadth and depth of expertise in cloud service delivery, as well as acquiring an expanded portfolio of services.
Trustmarque said it already helped organisations plan and achieve their goals in “the cloud”, web-based applications negating the need for businesses to spend money on servers and hardware.
The acquisition gave it an established customer base, proven services and access to specific expertise and resources in cloud delivery.
Scott Haddow, chief executive of Trustmarque Solutions, said: “We are in the midst of a fundamental shift, as more and more enterprises start to use services enabled by cloud technologies.
“As a result, Trustmarque is continually evolving and investing in our business to adapt to the needs of our customers and the Nimbus acquisition is part of that evolution.”
