A York firm of funeral directors has won a regional title for its “outstanding service to the community”.
JG Fielder & Son was named Golden Charter regional funeral planner of the year for the north-east of England.
In recognition of the firm’s achievement, the Woodland Trust has dedicated a group of trees at Stray Head Banks, North Yorkshire, in its name.
Vic Fielder, of the York firm, said: “I am absolutely delighted to receive this award. It pays tribute to all the hard work put into the business by and the dedication and professionalism of all my colleagues.”
The firm was chosen from more than 1,400 funeral businesses that offer Golden Charter’s independent funeral plan.
