Andrew Jones – Best Western Monkbar Hotel
Andrew Jones, who has worked in the hospitality industry for more than 20 years, joins York’s award-winning 99-bedroom Best Western Monkbar Hotel as its operations manager.

The married father of three has worked at the Best Western York Pavilion and, more recently, at the Best Western Cedar Court Hotel in Harrogate, where he was responsible for the day-to -day operations of the hotel.

June Nelsey, Monkbar Hotel director, said: “His is a key appointment for us and we are looking forward to him joining us as we celebrate 21years as a major player in the city’s vibrant hospitality industry.”

Julian Batson – Barclays Corporate
Barclays Corporate has strengthened its local authority offering in Yorkshire with the introduction of Julian Batson as a relationship director responsible for providing specialist support in the region.

Julian, who already has responsibility for Barclays Corporate's relationships with the some of the region’s local authorities and government agencies, will join a nationwide team of 34 specialists providing increased, local-level support to authorities.

Heather Fleming, Daniel Edwards and Nancy Hellier – Harrowell
Three specialists have joined Harrowells’ litigation and employment teams.

Heather Fleming joins Harrowells from national law firm Lyons Davidson, where she was an advocate. She undertakes both commercial and property litigation work.

Daniel Edwards, having trained at a City of London firm and practised in East Anglia, joins as a solicitor specialising in commercial and property litigation, with a particular interest in residential landlord and tenant disputes.

Nancy Hellier, an experienced employment lawyer, qualified as a solicitor in Lincolnshire and has spent time working in Sydney, Australia.
