INDOOR karting and conference company Pole Position indoor Karting (PPiK) has bought a 300-metre professionally-designed circuit near Wetherby.
The new site on Thorp Arch Retail Park means the business, which has a circuit in Leeds, can serve firms in North Yorkshire and the North East, it said.
The PPiK Wetherby track has a fleet of SODI GT2 karts with 200cc Honda engines and adjustable pedals and seats.
Competitive racing driver of 15 years Ben Hyland, marketing director at PPiK, said: “PPiK Leeds has successfully grown since opening in 2003, despite the difficult economical situation over the last few years and we put a great deal of thought into the location for our second site.
“We want PPiK to be accessible to businesses and leisure-seekers across the North and the location in Wetherby provides this with its excellent links to the motorways.
He said: “We are already seeing bookings from local businesses for corporate days and look forward to welcoming more over the coming weeks and months.
“The site was previously a race track, but we are already improving and developing the venue to ensure it meets the high expectations of PPiK customers.”
