A NEW club for York businesswomen will be launched next month.
The Women’s Business Clubs, the organisation for UK women entrepreneurs, today announced the formation of a new Premier Club in the area.
The York Premier Club will have its first meeting at The Grange Hotel, York, on Tuesday, July 5, and aims to provide a forum for collaboration, sharing expertise and networking.
TWBC Premier Clubs are for business founders, freelances and directors who are passionate about their business and are willing to open doors for one another. Membership of the Premier Club is professionally exclusive – only one membership per business type – but all are welcome to the inaugural meeting.
The club will be hosted by Appleton Roebuck business woman Lisa Payne, who runs Agenda Event Management and Consulting Ltd.
Already a member in Leeds, she said: “I find the club hugely supportive for people like me who work at home rather than in an office environment.
“It gives me the opportunity to talk over issues with other businesswomen who go out of their way to help one another and there is a definite need for this in York.
“But it is open to women in all lines of business, from professionals like lawyers and accountants, to those leading small and medium-sized enterprises.”
This is the latest launch in a UK wide network of more than 70 clubs especially for women in business.
Lisa said: “I look forward to welcoming new members and guests to our launch meeting.”
