NO sooner had the Skipton Building Society moved out of its premises on the corner of King’s Square and Colliergate, York, than the building was being marketed for sale for nearly £1 million.
Now the building society has transferred to new premises in Parliament Street, its old Grade II listed home in the city centre has had a price tag of £980,000 put on it.
The agents, BHT of Leeds, are alternatively offering a lease on the ground floor and self-contained two-bedroom apartment on the first and second floors at £70,000 per annum. That will not include estimated rates of £22,950.
Buyers could be attracted by the fact that close by are Boots, Ladbrokes, Caffe Nero and Barnitt’s store and the self-contained apartment yields a yearly rental income of £7,440.
