HOLIDAYBREAK, the parent company of York-based holiday business Superbreak, has confirmed it is in discussions over a potential sale of the business.
Holidaybreak made the announcement after its shares surged from about 296 pence per share last week, up to 380p, settling yesterday at about 368p.
It said: “As a result of a movement in Holidaybreak's share price, Holidaybreak announces that it is in discussions with a third party which may or may not lead to an offer for Holidaybreak. A further announcement will be made in due course.”
The Holidaybreak group offers educational and adventure holidays, camping holidays and hotel breaks, which includes its Superbreak business which employs about 200 people in York.
