BUSINESSES in York are flexing their muscles as they fight to be named the city’s fittest company.
The Press has teamed up with York gym Fitness First to hold this unique summer event, in which competitors are given a dynamic fitness rating based on resting heart rate, body fat percentage, weight, age, and level of activity.
The Press’s BizFit team, which has already put law firm Ware and Kay through its paces, is working out in preparation for its next battle against North Yorkshire County Caterers.
Ware and Kay beat North Yorkshire County Caterers, and accountants Garbutt and Elliott beat the team from Ambiente Tapas Restaurant on Goodramgate in their first round. Nick Skull, Garbutt and Elliott’s head of tax has made a name for himself as best overall performer in this round, as well as winning the bonus for best effort when the team was beaten by Yorwaste.
But it is all still to play for as the teams near the end of the first round, completing the final one-to-one playoffs before they all come head to head in the finals.
