A LONG-standing employee of a North Yorkshire tyre business has set up on his own.

Peter Cox, who has spent 17 years running Union Tyres in Union Lane, Selby, has set up Selby Tyre Centre, on the same site in Union Lane, which he owns.

Union Tyres has relocated outside of the town centre.

Peter employs former colleague Ross Edwards, with whom he has worked for 12 years.

Peter, who has been in the tyre business for 24 years, said: “I’m sick of working for other people and making someone else money, not myself. So I’ve done it.”
