BUSINESSES can have their say on the future of development in York at a meeting of York Property Forum today.
Following the withdrawal of the city’s Local Development Framework, the forum, part of Leeds, York and North Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce, is holding a debate called Planning for York’s Future – Where Next? Participants will put forward their views as to how the future economic development of the city should be shaped.
Susie Cawood, head of York and North Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce, said: “In light of the recent announcement not to call in the decision on the Monks Cross planning application, and with City of York Council deciding to withdraw the Local Development Framework pending further required work, it is imperative the business community engages in this opportunity to help formulate the future growth of the city.”
The debate, at the Royal York Hotel from 5pm to 7pm, will also hear from Peter Kay, chair of York Economic Partnership on the economic strategy for the city.
