A NEW group for businesses based in Easingwold and the surrounding villages has ambitious plans after holding its first event.
The YO60ners attracted about 45 businesses to the Rose & Crown Jo Burgess, who runs her own HR company, started the group after getting fed up of travelling to networking events. She said there was a real appetite to do business locally and many businesses walked away from the event with orders.
Sponsors are lining up for the next networking events, which will also be based in local pubs she said, and they also intend to set up a support group for people who work alone or at home to share expertise, knowledge and experience with other members.
She said the group, which is open to all businesses in the YO60 and YO61 postcode areas, potentially could become a lobbying organisation for Easingwold and the surrounding area.
She said: “It has completely exceeded our expectations.”
