RYEDALE Business Club has launched a recruitment drive to more than double its membership.
Steve Marsh, who is chairman of the club which began in July 2004, said he hoped to boost membership from about 35 to 100.
He said: "A variety of local businesses meet every two months and network at local venues. Many are sole traders from small and often young ventures, and there is a strong element of mutual support and advice."
A special committee has been formed to look at ways of attracting new businesses.
Already new recruits have signed up as a result of a marketing workshop last month at the Ryedale Indoor Bowling Club, in Norton.
Julie Cowdy, of Styling Spaces, an accredited house doctor, will talk about how to create a stylish, clutter-free workspace at the next meeting at The Worsley Arms, Hovingham, on Tuesaday, November 28, at 6pm.
Anyone wanting to attend for the first time should phone Brian Law, of the Malton office of the York, Selby and Malton Business Advice Centre, on 07941 602226
