A POCKLINGTON software business has been listed among the top UK exporters by the Sunday Times.
Phoenix Software, is ranked 14th in the first Sunday Times HSBC International Track 200 league table, which ranks Britain’s private companies with the fastest-growing international sales.
The league table lists 17 companies in Yorkshire, also including Barrett Steel, which has its Barrett Precision Tubes business in Elvington, York; Ligentia; Pricecheck Toiletries; CF Booth; Millers Oils; Really Useful Products; Waxman Group; Bradford Hide; P&B Foods; Leo Group; Kiveton Park Steel; MTL Group; Allam Marine; Higgins; Acorn Stairlifts and ghd.
These 17 companies have added 873 jobs over the past two years to employ a total of 4,772 people and have combined sales are £1.4 billion, with international sales growing by an average of 51 per cent a year over two years to a total of £593 million.
Phoenix Software, which employs 117 people led by husband and wife team John Forsyth and Suzanne Marshall-Forsyth, was ranked the highest of the Yorkshire businesses, growing overseas sales by 160 per cent a year over two years, reaching £4.1 million of its £74 million turnover in 2011.
