A DELEGATION of Chinese lawyers will meet York lawyers and dignitaries tomorrow.

The group of five has been invited by the College of Law to visit York as part of a professional trade mission that brings it to London every two years.

The group will meet Lord Mayor Coun Keith Hyman and the civic party. They will also meet local lawyers Andrew Lindsay, director at Lupton Fawcett; Martin Frost, partner at Denison Till; Robert Onyett, managing partner of Harrowells; Nigel Wilson, partner of Ebor Law; Jennifer Bartram, senior partner, Crombie Wilkinson; Paul Aber, centre director of the College of Law, York and David Hyams, partner of Ware & Kay.

Andrew Lindsay said: “A lot of Chinese lawyers come to the UK to get a qualification that enables them to practice here. We thought it was important to show them there’s a world outside London that does a lot of work that they might think they needed to go to London to do.

“The city is very keen to promote York as a professional services centre and one that a city that looks outside the city walls,” he said.
