FORTY-SIX students from Joseph Rowntree School have set off on a month-long expedition to Kenya.
Each student had to fundraise £3,370 for the trip.
The students, together with four members of staff and two expedition leaders, will be working in five different camps.
A school spokesman said: “It is going to be an amazing, life changing, experience for all involved. Students will have to get used to surviving with very little electricity and being parted from their mobile phones and constant access to the internet. The people we are going to be working with are fantastic, and our students will learn a lot from them as well as being able to give a lot back.
