SPECIALISTS from more than 30 countries will attend a three-day Information Technology “summit” at the University of York this week.
The 2010 Microsoft Certified Trainer (MCT) Summit is a major professional development and networking event organised by the University of York IT Academy from tomorrow until Friday. Converging on the university will be delegates from Europe, the US as well as Mauritius, Russia, India, Kuwait, Pakistan, Libya, and Lebanon.
Lutz Ziob, the head of Microsoft Learning, will give a presentation on the opening day of the conference.
Andrew Bettany, manager of the University IT Academy, and organiser of this year’s summit, said: “It is tremendous that the University of York is actively involved with IT training at a local and international level. We have been able to provide relevant IT training that has struck a chord with UK and international trainers. We have established the University’s reputation as a provider of world-class IT training.”
A feature of the summit will be a “CSI-IT” evening that will focus on the detection of and protection from cyber-crime.
The IT Academy was instrumental in securing further events including, SQLBits, the largest database conference in Europe from 30 September to 2 October.
