Qualified counsellor Caroline Kitching has launched a specialist service for those working in farming and the countryside.

This follows the success of her general service Inner Reach Therapy.

Both services are run from Regus, Tower Court, York, and sessions are in person, online or by telephone.

Sadly, farming has one of the highest suicide rates in the UK, and with the stigmas attached to seeking help, many individuals do not seek help.

Caroline is an alumni of Harper Adams Agricultural College (1994-1998) and has over 30 years of experience working in the agricultural industry.

As a previous volunteer for a farming mental health charity, she has seen first-hand the issues that this sector can face such as stigma, isolation, loneliness, business uncertainty, and family and relationship issues.

Counselling is more than just talking, Caroline says.

It is discovering tools to cope with life’s ups and downs, learning ways to mentally cope with business and environmental instability and how to manage relationships better.

Caroline offers a free initial phone call or online meeting, where she will be more than happy to discuss your needs and what you would like to achieve from therapy.

She added: "No judgment, no shame and all enquiries are confidential. It’s ok to talk....and may be the best step you can ever make to help with your mental health."
