YOUNG jobseekers are being offered a way into the leisure industry at a York leisure centre.
The WRIGHT Foundation, which teaches fitness qualifications, has teamed up with Waterworld in Monks Cross, York, to assist 18- to-24-year-olds who have been unemployed for up to a year.
The scheme is part of the Government’s Future Jobs Fund, and will provide fitness jobs in the run up to Government’s Exercise4Life fitness drive, which will run through September.
Employees will then have an opportunity to gain a level-three gym instructor qualification and permanent employment.
