Fans of the Nathan Peake novels of Seth Hunter have an opportunity to meet the author in person when he visits Explore York Library Learning Centre next Tuesday.

The evening with the historical adventure writer has been organised to mark the publication of his third book in the series, which is entitled The Price Of Glory.

The Nathan Peake stories begin in the last decade of the 18th century, during the series of wars that followed the French Revolution and lasted for almost a quarter of a century until the Battle of Waterloo in 1815.

The historical and naval fiction trilogy includes The Time Of Terror, The Tide Of War and now The Price Of Glory, all set during the conflicts that followed the revolution of 1789.

Research for the Nathan Peake stories has taken Seth to several locations including Kerala, in southern India, and given him a fund of anecdotes, including riding through the backstreets of Fort Cochin on a bicycle with very bad brakes and exploring the backwaters near Alleppey in a boat made of straw.

Tuesday’s event takes place at 7pm and tickets are priced at £5, including a glass of wine (for adults).

Seth’s books will be available for visitors to purchase.
