Geordie joker Gavin Webster previews his Newcastle Playhouse shows at the Black Comedy @ The Black Swan night in York on Tuesday.
"Gavin is one of the finest comics in the land, and he'll be doing a full hour down here at our place, a much more intimate venue than for his Newcastle gigs next Friday and Saturday, " says promoter and compere James Christopher.
"Expect achingly funny stand-up stories and songs in what should be a very special show."
In support at the Black Swan Inn, Peasholme Green, will be Scott McCloud and Chris Titley, erstwhile journalist and columnist for this very newspaper.
Doors open at 8.15pm for the 8.45pm start; admission is £2, and as ever the winner of the audience joke competition will receive a bottle of wine.
