THREE of the best wordsmiths on the comedy circuit are on the bill at this week's The Other Side Comedy Club.
Alistair Barrie is a familiar face thanks to his role as a psychiatrist on Channel 4's show Green Wing.
He is a regular member of The Cutting Edge team at London's Comedy Store and his TV and radio appearances include The World Stands Up, Richard and Judy, Loose Ends, Spanking New and The Sandi Toksvig Show.
Alistair has also been a warmup act for Friday Night With Jonathan Ross, Never Mind The Buzzcocks and Shoot The Messenger.
Meanwhile, Paul Kerensa is a self-confessed nerd with a firstrate mastery of comic art.
Proving that you don't always have to be edgy to be funny, "brainy comic" Paul has become a regular at the UK's biggest comedy venues and a successful writer and performer for television and radio. He has written for Dear Ringers, The News Quiz and The Now Show on Radio 4 and appeared on Comedy Cuts and Take The Mike on ITV.
Paul has created his own brand of slightly geeky comedy and been described as "ingenious" by The Evening Standard and praised by Ricky Gervais.
The show is hosted by Markus Birdman, one of the hottest tickets on last year 's Edinburgh Fringe festival.
The Other Side Comedy Club, Sunday, February 3. Doors open at 7pm for a 7.30pm start in the Basement Bar of City Screen, York. Tickets: £8, on 0871 704 2054.
