MADCAP comedian Lee Evans will perform warm-up shows for his upcoming 66-date UK tour in York next month.
The performer will appear at York’s Grand Opera House on Monday, June 20, and Tuesday, June 21, ahead of his Roadrunner tour, to be held at stadiums around the country later this year.
Evans has won numerous awards for his stand-up comedy over the years, including the Perrier Award and the Time Out Award For Comedy, and has also performed in international movies including There’s Something About Mary, The Fifth Element, Mouse Hunt and Funny Bones.
On his previous arena tour in 2008, tickets to a show at London’s O2 Arena sold out in only one hour, and the DVD release of the show sold more than 259,000 copies in the first week of release, and still holds the record for biggest week one release for a non-film DVD.
Tickets for the York shows cost £28, and are available from the box office on 0844 8713024, or by emailing grandoperahouse.org.uk
