REARRANGED from last October, and well worth the wait, Jason Manford presented two sold-out nights of thoroughly enjoyable top-drawer comedy in York last weekend, each show running to two and a half hours.

Unlike plenty of other comedians, the 8 Out Of 10 Ten Cats team captain and former presenter of The One Show doesn’t spend his time running around the stage or pacing up and down; he merely stands and speaks, but he is well worth listening to.

I laughed from beginning to end and had tears running down my face from laughing so hard.

His narcoleptic dad is a comedian’s gift, providing plenty of childhood reminiscences, and there is a generous portion of witty “we’ve all been there” observations, which work well with his exceptionally natural delivery.

Manford is able to make real-life scenarios incredibly funny and relates his stories in such a way that you have to be amused.

My favourite moment? Just too many to mention, but perhaps the funniest was the joke about being proud of living in Manchester and seeing a man punch a pigeon.

Last Saturday’s show was made even better by Manford coming back on at the end and doing another 20-minute slot. He is a great guy and very funny with it and he even made time for photos and autograph-signing afterwards.

I would definitely see him again and recommend you to do likewise on his autumn tour. Thanks for the laughs, Jason; keep them coming!
