ASKRIGG artist Piers Browne will attend the opening of The Four Seasons Etchings and New Oil Paintings exhibition at The Blake Gallery, Blake Street, York, on Saturday.
Piers will be in Michael Hourston’s gallery from “around 10am until sometime after 1pm”. “As usual everyone is welcome to join us for a glass of sparkling wine, fruit juice or both,” says Michael.
“I’m fortunate to have Piers Browne’s work in the gallery as a permanent feature, but for two weeks I also have this wonderful exhibition of his series of etchings, The Four Seasons.”
A painstaking five years of’ creativity went into Piers’s set of eight etchings. “Printed using three or four plates, they’re on display for the first time with many of the original oil paintings which formed the basis of the work,” says Michael.
The Four Seasons show will run from Saturday until May 18 and the gallery will be open daily from 10am to 5pm, except on Tuesdays, Sundays and Bank Holiday Monday.
