AN EXHIBITION venue has been found for a collection of photographs of “great women of York” following an appeal in The Press.
The Spurriergate Centre is hosting the exhibition of pictures by Andrea Denniss, of Pink Lily Photography of New Earswick, until next Monday.
The seven women were chosen in a York 800 competition last year aimed at highlighting inspirational women in the city to mark the 800th anniversary of the granting of a Royal charter to York.
They are Sharon Moore, Tammy Hobson, Annie Austen-Meek, Jeanette Hutchinson, Joanne Cadden, Lisa Browne and Rachel Speight-McGregor.
Centre manager, Alan Nicholls, who came forward to offer wall space for the exhibition after The Press reported an appeal for a city-centre venue.
