NUNNINGTON gallery Bils & Rye will celebrate its first birthday on St Valentine’s Day, prompting owners Nick and Kate Bentley to mark the occasion with a selection of heart-themed artworks.
‘We have some beautiful ceramic hearts by Karen Banks, Brittany Delany and Louise Hall, as well as some amazing heart books by Rosy Hammersley and pewter hearts by Ella McIntosh,” says Kate.
“During February, we’ll be donating all commission from the sale of these and other heart-themed works to the Ryedale Special Families charity, which does amazing work within our local community.”
A work by street artist Scar is for sale at the gallery, from which 100 per cent of the sale price will be donated to Great Ormond Street Hospital.
Reflecting on Bils & Rye’s first 11 months, Nick says: “It has been an exciting year when the gallery has built a strong reputation for exhibiting a wide range of contemporary sculpture, ceramics and paintings.
"We’ve attracted the attention of some serious art lovers and collectors and we’re looking forward to introducing our audiences to the exhibitions we’ve planned for the next year.”
Bils & Rye operates from Nunnington Studios, Low Street, Nunnington.
