AN EXHIBITION of the most stunning wildlife photographs of 2013 is to go on display at a North Yorkshire country house.
Nunnington Hall, near Helmsley, will host the British Wildlife Photography Awards Exhibition, starting today.
The exhibition will showcase winners and nominees from last September’s ceremony, including the highly commended Life In The Old Boot, by York photographer Simon Roy.
The winning photograph, featuring a bottlenose dolphin in the sea near Northern Ireland, was entitled In the Living Room.
Photographer George Karbus walked away with the £5,000 prize.
TV presenter and naturalist Chris Packham, who hosted September’s awards, said: “These stunning images by so many talented photographers highlight the diversity, breadth and beauty of our precious wildlife and the need to protect their habitats.
“From bluetits to badgers, never has Britain’s wildlife looked more beautiful.”
The awards were created to celebrate the talents of both amateur and professional photographers, while simultaneously highlighting the great wealth of British natural history.
The exhibition will run until Sunday, May 11.
