THE craft of English pottery throughout the ages will be showcased at a new exhibition at York Art Gallery.
Honest Pots runs from today for the next 12 months and, according to the gallery, is a chance to observe the “the unpretentious beauty of handmade pottery”.
Pieces range from medieval jugs to country pottery and on to contemporary studio prices.
Curator Helen Walsh said: “This is an exhibition which invites viewers to spend time looking at the subtle beauty of traditional handmade functional pottery and seeing how it has influenced a whole movement of contemporary potters.”
