AURA, the annual international exhibition run by Yorkshire jewellers Pamela Dickinson, Jacqueline Stieger, Emma Sedman and Jacqueline Warrington, is searching for a new home in York.
The organisers were two years into a three-year arrangement with Grays Court in Chapter House Street, but the historic building’s Long Gallery is no longer available for the November event.
“We feel that we have picked up a good reputation since we started the Aura selling exhibitions at Burton Agnes Hall in 2005, and we wonder if there is anywhere in York that might wish to host our 2011 show,” says Pamela, from Driffield.
“We need a space to display up to 24 cases by Yorkshire, national and international jewellers.”
The organisers are keen to develop Aura further.
“It’s very much a serious exhibition for serious professional artists rather than a half-baked project,” says Pamela.
“As time goes on, we need to involve more jewellery makers from the north of England of the highest quality. We’ve had plenty of international jewellers in the exhibitions but we want to expand the local profile.”
Should you be able to assist the Aura quartet in their quest for a new location, please send an email to post@auraexhibition.co.uk or phone Pamela on 01377 254186.
