THE summer exhibition of York’s Quilt Museum and Gallery has opened after weeks of preparation.
Themes for this season are Celebrations and Made In Yorkshire which will see an array of interesting textile works grace the museum.
An apt display in the wake of the royal wedding, Celebrations, will reveal wedding and Christening gowns, including a quilted wedding gown made by Amy Emms for her daughter in 1957. A quilt made to commemorate Queen Victoria’s golden jubilee will also be on show.
The museum’s Made In Yorkshire features work by several Yorkshire textile artists.
