CLEMENTHORPE artist Ian Cameron is exhibiting 24 original paintings in the upstairs bar at York Theatre Royal until May 31.
Ian took part in the tenth anniversary York Open Studios last month, opening his studio in Ebor Street, York, to almost 250 visitors over the two weekends.
He took up art only seven years ago.
“I went to an evening class one night a week to study for a GCSE art qualification, progressing to AS and A-levels and I augmented this by studying part-time at York College from 2006 to 2008 on the foundation art course,” he says.
Ian specialises in abstract works, using wax rubbings, brush washes and Indian ink drawings supplemented with collage to create a multi-layered effect.
All 24 paintings are for sale at prices ranging from £40 to £170, along with postcards at 30p and hand-made sketchbooks at £3. To see examples of Ian’s artwork, visit icam.carbonmade.com
